Stage 1 – Mechanical Filter: The Fluval U1 Foam Pad Filter (A485) for the Fluval U1 Underwater Aquarium Filter System uses porous foam to capture large particles and impurities such as dirt, sediment, sand, rust, limescale, hair, waste, and more Stage 2 – Mechanical Filter: The Fluval Poly Foam Pad for the Fluval U1 Underwater Aquarium Filter System uses a dense poly foam pad filter layer to remove fine debris and very small particulatesThe Fluval U1 Aquarium Filtration System is engineered for top performance in aquariums up to 15 gallons, providing maximum filter surface area for superior aquarium filtration and recirculation. The Fluval U1 can also be used as a secondary aquarium filter in conjunction with larger and more advanced aquarium filter systems.
